One of the hallmarks of SDS Automation for the past 30 years has been to provide exceptional service and support to our customers. Our goal has always been to ensure that your machines provide a level of performance and efficiency that makes your business more successful. While the COVID-19 virus will likely introduce new challenges to delivering that service to you, please know that we remain unwaveringly dedicated to your success and the commitment we made to be there when you need us.
If you have recently purchased equipment from us or intend to in the near future, please note that we are moving forward with our on-site installation and the geography of each individual customer is playing a critical part in each decision we make depending on the potential impact that location could have upon the health and safety of our technicians. We will be strictly adhering to all WHO, CDC and other national, state, and local authoritative guidelines for travel.
The days and weeks ahead are filled with uncertainty but we will continue to do our best within those guidelines. Based on the information presently available, SDS Automation is temporarily postponing all non-essential travel until April 15th. Any travel deemed urgent will be evaluated on a case by case basis. This decision was not made lightly. Our leadership team reached this decision out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to protect the health of the SDS Automation family as well as that of our valued customers.
SDS Automation has been an innovator for decades, and we will continue to apply that mindset to the implementation of new processes and protocols which will allow us to continue to provide and improve upon the level of service and support to which you have grown accustomed. Our California showroom is equipped with technology and infrastructure that will enable and support our efforts to provide our customers with a wide array of remote support options. While bringing these current systems on-line, we are also evaluating new technologies that can assist us in continuing to provide the same industry-leading support that played a major role in all of your initial purchasing decisions.
We believe we have a responsibility to our customers. We intend to be in close communication with you as we move forward through these uncertain times. SDS Automation welcomes Matthew Davies as the new Marketing Manager for the company. He brings over 30 years of experience in printing and B2B marketing with special experience in variable data through print and digital.
Davies will be developing and implementing an overall corporate marketing strategy and translating the company’s business objectives into marketing strategies that drive revenue. In addition, he will determine and administer the marketing budget, identify and track key metrics, and develop client education systems and content to help SDS customers grow their business and revenue.
“I am very excited to join SDS Automation. I look forward to bringing my experience and skills to the company to make 2020 an incredible year for both the company and its customers. One of my particular focuses will be in creating systems and information resources to help our customers grow their revenue and their business,” said Davies.
We are pleased to announce that we’ve entered into a new marketing agreement with GSG (Graphic Solutions Group), a company with half a century of knowledge and experience in traditional sign, screen printing, embroidery and textile decorating. GSG is a fully committed partner to printers in the Southwest and across the U.S., just as SDS Automation is focused on providing the best automated sign making solutions throughout North America. The ISA Sign Expo is a fantastic trade show that we look forward to participating in every year. While the shows are always great, some years are extra special and this year’s (2019) show was one of best. What makes one year better than another, you may wonder. With shows alternating between Orlando, FL and Las Vegas, NV, weather is not usually a factor.
Product line-up, on the other hand, is very important and this year we introduced two new automated machines, the ChannelBender® XD and ChannelSander™. Both machines are completely unique, the “first and only” of their kind in the sign making industry and as such, they attracted a lot of interest.
The ChannelBender XD is the first and only channel letter bender capable of bending .080″ aluminum coil. With it’s ability to bend from .032″-.080″ thick aluminum coil ranging from 1.5″ to 8.5″ in height, the XD is the perfect workhorse for the shop that wants to make flanged or reverse channel letters.
Our ChannelSander will certainly prove to be one of our most useful innovations yet, by allowing sign makers to sand their letters before they bend them. Sanding and vacuuming return material before forming letters will slash labor costs. Not only will it work with all ChannelBenders, it will work with other manufacturer’s benders as well.
